WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY CELEBRATIONS
- As a part of World Environment Day 2024 celebrations, Project Nilgiri Tahr organized a signature campaign to create awareness about Nilgiri Tahr conservation to the public at the Forest check post, Aliyar, Pollachi.
- Exhibits of Nilgiri Tahr conservation-based articles, publication materials, key chains and photo frames of Tahr were displayed to students and tourists. Key attractions include a selfie spot with a semi-sized Nilgiri Tahr plaque model and miniature 3D models of Nilgiri Tahr.
- Nilgiri Tahr conservation talk was delivered to the general public by the Project Director, followed by tree sapling distribution and interaction with Tribal communities and distribution of awareness stickers to tourist vehicles.
- To commemorate the occasion of environmental day, A signature campaign was organized to make the people to enthusiastically participate in Nilgiri Tahr conservation. Around 123 people signed in to the campaign with a gross participation of over 300 people.
